Enjoy the wrap-around balcony, where you will be looking directly into the trees while you watch squirrels, birds, and feed the jays. Inside, you have a view into the trees from every room. You’ll be in the quiet, peaceful environment of beautiful Alta Sierra, with plenty of fun and excitement not far away. Our almost-new cabin has four bedrooms that await you with all the comforts of home. Our cabin is just a short walk from the Greenhorn Grill, where you can enjoy delicious food Thursday through Sunday.

We are two miles from Alta Sierra Ski Resort and Terrain Park where you can ski, tube and snow board in season. Lake Isabella, a popular fishing spot, is eight miles away, and the town of Isabella, where you will find food, gas, and a Vons grocery store, is 14 miles away. Historic Kernville is just 12 miles away, where you can enjoy whitewater river rafting on the Kern in season, kayaking on the lake, and picnics in River Park, which also has a small beach and playground.

Please be aware that this is not a “party” cabin, but a quiet, peaceful retreat in the mountains. We'd love to have you spend some time at our Alta Sierra Kamala Kabin, but if you want to party, you would be better off with another choice.

"Susan, The late winter storms turned our 2011 visit to Kamala into a great adventure. Getting into the cabin on snowy roads, even with chains, involved some long minutes in the wintry weather and required a couple of sturdy guys to ride in the last few hundred yard on the back of our SUV, hopping occasionally. But the effort was a perfect beginning to a great weekend retreat. The cabin became our comfortable haven, welcoming us warmly back from lunch at the Kern River Brewing Company, a hike through Alta Sierra and from sledding down snow-covered roads. We ate well. Watched movies. Played Wii. Talked about kids and family and transitions. We tracked a hungry cat and its cloven-hooved prey across the snowy landscape, though we never found out whether the cat (I maintain it was a bobcat) managed to land dinner. There was snow. There was rain. Snowballs were thrown. It was a great time. "

"My family and I rented the Kamala Kabin 12/23/2010-12/26/2010. The cabin is gorgeous, lots of space, and beautiful view from the balcony. We loved the wrap around balcony and used it the most, even though it was cold. My kids and nephews had a blast snow sledding.
